FORM ONE SELECTION 2017 - KCPE candidates who scored 400 marks and above will today know high schools they will join next year.

Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi says the Form One selection for pupils who sat for this year’s KCPE examinations will be completed by December 4 and Every pupil will know which school they will be joining come December 12, 2017.Form One selection exercise 2017
The Government will provide six textbooks for Students joining form one in 2018, Cabinet Secretary for Education Fred Matiangi has revealed. Speaking after officially launching the form one selection exercise at KICD, Matiang’i said each Form One student will get the Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Chemistry, Biology and physics textbooks once they report to school.Top student Goldalyn Kakuya, who scored 455 marks, will join her School of choice Kenya High school.
The students are expected to report to their respective schools between 9th and 12th January 2018. Matiang’i said candidates who scored over 400 marks can now send their index number to 20042 to know which School they will join. 63% of the Form One students will join sub-county schools and the selection exercise is expected to be complete by Friday.

Form One selection that was scheduled to be launched tomorrow Friday has been rescheduled to Tuesday next week and will take place at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD). As reported by a statement from Education PS Belio Kipsang' on Wednesday.
The ceremony will be presided by Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i. The reporting date for Form One students however, remains January 9. The circular was sent to all regional education coordinators and county directors of education. Dr Matiang'i said the 5,143 pupils who scored 400 marks and above in the KCPE Exams will get places in the 103 National schools.
2016 KCPE Top students will know the National schools they have been selected to join by Friday.
Out of the 942,021 candidates who sat for last year’s KCPE exams, only 5,143 scored 400 marks and above, 207,141 scored between 301 and 400 marks while 501,552 scored between 201 and 300 marks.There are 103 National schools grouped into four clusters, with cluster three comprising 18 schools that form the cream of the crop. These include Alliance High School, Mangu High School, Lenana School, Nairobi School, Alliance Girls and Moi Girls High School-Eldoret.

Form One Selection 2016/2017
Form One selection for the candidates who sat the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations will begin today (Thursday, December 1 2016).The selection will follow immediately after the release of the results by the Ministry of Education and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
This is against the norm where the selection process has always been done in January while results have been released late December.
KCPE Results 2016
It is confirmed that KCPE Results 2016 will be out by end of November 2016 and that new 2017 Form One students will report to secondary school on 4th January, 2017. Therefore Form One Selection 2017 will be done immediately after the results have been announced and will be done online.
There will be neither physical selections for secondary slots nor physical admission letters during this 2017 selection. This will help in curbing the disease of selling admission letters at the corridors of Jogoo House or other admission centers.

To check which school your child has been admitted to, go to the Ministry of Education website
- Select the County and Sub-county you sat KCPE then key in your index number and Submit.
- Click on the Admission Letter at the bottom of the page for your copy of your admission Letter.
- Use the Printer icon to print or Download icon to download to you computer.
- Please get your primary school’s Headteacher to endorse this letter in the space provided after printing
“I challenge all secondary schools to ensure they have functional websites to enhance public access to information,” said Education CS Fred Matiang’i.
This year, however, the Ministry of Education will still send out admission letters in hard copy, a process that will run concurrently with the online access being piloted for some national schools.
