What are the benefits of group discussions in school?
The potential benefit from discussions in fostering true understanding and long-lasting knowledge is huge;
- Discussions can breathe life into dormant ideas.
- They encourage active learning, allow for a kind of recitation that rivals most solitary study.
- Discussions also provide an opportunity to reflect on ideas through the perspectives of multiple minds instead of simply your own. That’s why it’s vital to treat discussions with the respect they deserve.
It wasn’t all that long ago when class discussions could be understood to take place in only one environment: the classroom. But things have changed. More and more colleges and universities are conducting class discussions online. That doesn’t mean that in-class discussions don’t still exist. They definitely do. Some instructors may have moved their discussions online, but others continue to hold them in the classroom. Still others go with a mixture of both.

Wise Choices in College MANAGING MONEY
When asked why they enrolled in college, many students say, “To get a better-paying job.” Quite understandably, they want what money can buy: a nice house, quality medical care, good food, reliable transportation, nice clothing, and time for recreation, to name just a few. They also want the peace of mind that financial security can offer. In a nutshell, they want the good life for themselves and for those they love. These students are correct that a college degree correlates with greater abundance.Clearly, earning a degree increases the likelihood of abundance. Sadly, however, many students’ inability to manage money keeps them from completing the very degree that would help them earn the money they desire. Managing money is a skill as important and challenging as reading and writing. And, just as poor reading or writing skills are barriers to college success, so, too, are poor money management skills.
To earn money, many students work so many hours that their learning and grades suffer. Still others drop out of college because they decide they just can’t afford it. Creators, however, treat a money problem as they would any other. They identify their goal, analyze their options, make a plan, carry it out, and, finally, assess its level of success. They will not be denied.
MANAGING MONEY
Create a positive affirmation about money. Many people hold negative beliefs about money and their ability to accumulate it. These doubts keep them from making wise choices that would cause more money to flow in their direction, or reduce the amount of money flowing away from them. Create an affirming statement about money, such as, I am creating unlimited abundance in my life. Along with your personal affirmation, repeat this financial affirmation to revise your choices about money. There is great abundance on our planet, and there is no reason why you shouldn’t enjoy your share of it.Create a financial plan. Like a life plan, a financial plan helps you define and achieve your goals. It helps you make important decisions about the cash flowing in and out of your bank account. As a guideline, some financial experts suggest that expenditures in a healthy financial plan should be close to the following percentages of your net income (i.e., the money remaining after all deductions):- Housing 31%, Entertainment 7% , Transportation 20% , Savings 7%, Food 16%, Clothing 6%, Miscellaneous 8%, Health 5%.
