The Institute is able to enroll 150-200 students in its first year intake. The applicant can be selected to join the Institute in the 2nd or 3rd option course depending on competition of the 1st course applied. The selected students can be allowed to change the course of study during 2nd week after registration.

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO CERTIFICATE/ORDINARY DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2018/2019
Mineral Resources (Madini) Institute (MRI) under the auspices of the Ministry of Minerals has more than thirty (30) years experience in training middle cadre professionals (Technicians) in mineral sector. Since 2012, MRI also diversified into training Technicians in the Energy (Oil and Gas) and Environmental sector.The Institute is full accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) to conduct Certificate to Ordinary Diploma Training (NTA level 4 - 6) under Competence Based Education and Training (CBET) System since 27th April, 2007.
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to pursue Certificate/Ordinary Diploma in the following courses:
- Geology and Mineral Exploration (Jiolojia na Utafutaji Madini)
- Mining Engineering (Uhandisi Migodi)
- Mineral Processing Engineering (Uhandisi Uchenjuaji Madini)
- Petroleum Geosciences (Sayansi ya Mafuta na Gesi)
- Environmental Engineering and Management in Mines (Uhandisi na Usimamizi wa Mazingira Migodini)
- Land and Mine Surveying (Upimaji Ardhi na Migodi)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE)/Form IV with minimum of “D” Grade in Physics, Chemistry,Mathematics, and any other two passes in non-religious subjects.
- Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE)/Form IV with any four (4) passes in science subjects (ForLand and Mine Surveying only)

The date for commencement of studies for the new academic year 2018/2019 will be 17th September, 2018. NOTE:
- All applicant should return their dully filled application forms to the Institute within the specified time
